On November 10, 2011 the Richardson Pioneer team took on a team of select retired NHL pros in the Mike Keane Hockey Classic
final game. With a record of 3 wins, 0 losses in the tournament, the Richardson Pioneers, assisted by their draft choice, Dale Hawerchuk, were happy to be in the final game against the pros.
While they didn't win, the game was close (sort of), no one was injured, everyone had fun, and the Richardson Pioneer team raised over $55,000 for the Winnipeg Jets True North Sports Foundation -- so it was a win, win, win.
